Who is favored here?

The Auburn Tigers are favored here, despite this game taking place in Davis Wade Stadium and there’s plenty of good reasons for that fact.

First, Auburn has played tougher competition so far and has looked better doing it. To open the season against No. 10 Washington and come out with a physically dominant win is a good thing to have on one’s resume. Auburn has that. And yes, the Auburn Tigers lost to the LSU Tigers, but LSU appears to be far better than expected.

Second, Auburn hasn’t exactly been embarrassed in back-to-back weeks. The Mississippi State football team has more than just fallen short against Kentucky and Florida. Auburn hasn’t experienced two losses this season, let alone two losses like that.

What is weird about the Tigers being favored is that it is only by a slim margin. It’s surprising that Auburn isn’t expected to come in and blow MSU out of the water.
