Garrett Shrader isn’t even on campus yet. Are we really supposed to wait for him for this offense to be fixed?

Joe Moorhead did a solid job of recruiting this offseason. Arguably the most important thing that Moorhead did was locking up the quarterback that he wants to run his system for the future. The only problem is that quarterback isn’t here right now.

Garrett Shrader, according to 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong, “was coach Joe Moorhead’s top target at the position” and was coveted by Moorhead when he was still with the Penn State Nittany Lions. Shrader is a highly touted recruit and will likely be a great quarterback for Moorhead’s offense should everything work out and Shrader arrive in Starkville.

However, Mississippi State fans shouldn’t have to wait for Shrader to see a successful offense. The Bulldogs are built to win now and they clearly aren’t. Maybe Shrader will step in, be a transcendent talent, and succeed at everything that Moorhead wants to run with his offense.

We shouldn’t have to bank on that for the Bulldogs to win.
