Mississippi State football: Five first half thoughts on leading Dan Mullen and Florida
By Ethan Lee
Nick Fitzgerald has played smart football so far but hasn’t done enough in the first half
Last week, Nick Fitzgerald struggled at times. Kentucky was able to halt the Bulldogs’ offense and rattled their quarterback. This week, against the Florida Gators, Nick Fitzgerald has played efficiently and made wise decisions that have kept the Bulldogs moving forward.
His stats aren’t going to inspire really anyone. Fitzgerald has completed 6 of his 9 passes for a meager 65 yards in the first half. Along with that, he’s carried the ball 12 times for 25 total rushing yards.
That’s not great, but it’s working so far. However, Mississippi State will need more from him in the second half.
