How to watch Mississippi State Football at Kentucky
The Mississippi State football team kicks off the 2018 SEC portion of their schedule on the road against the Kentucky Wildcats.
When the Mississippi State football team takes the field, it will do so in a position that fans of the Bulldogs are not accustomed to. The Bulldogs will be a double digit favorite on the road in an SEC football game. If you’re looking for where you can watch the game, here’s the necessary information.
- Game Time: 6:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time
- Television: ESPN 2
- Streaming: Watch ESPN app and FUBO TV
- Radio: Check local listings or use the Mississippi State Radio Network on iTunes
ESPN 2 picked up the broadcast as ESPN opted to go with Florida and Tennessee this weekend. I wasn’t in agreement with that choice, but they don’t ask me.
The Mississippi State football team has not had too much of a struggle so far in 2018. They have outscored their opponents 150-26. We’ll see if the first SEC game is similarly easy or if the Bulldogs are given more of a challenge against the Wildcats.
Here is what I’ll be looking for as the game plays out this evening.
Which Nick Fitzgerald shows up
Nick Fitzgerald has played in two games in 2018, and he has looked completely different in both games. The Mississippi State football team will need their starting quarterback to resemble the one who completed 14 of 21 pass attempts, two touchdowns, and over over 200 passing yards against Louisiana. If they get that Nick Fitzgerald consistently, I’m not sure who the Bulldogs lose to in 2018.
Can Mississippi State slow down Benny Snell?

Benny Snell is one of the better backs in the SEC. But in 2017, the Mississippi State football defense limited him to 18 yards on 7 carries. Kentucky has to have a big game from their best player if they want to have a chance to win.
How legit is Terry Wilson?
Sophomore quarterback for the Kentucky Wildcats Terry Wilson has been getting rave reviews. He is a dual threat quarterback capable of hurting teams with both his arm and his legs. The Bulldog defense will be his toughest challenge to date. We’ll get an idea of just how good the talented signal caller is when he goes up against Jeffery Simmons and company.
Which running back is featured?
Against Kansas State, Kylin Hill went off for over 200 yards on 17 carries. Against Louisiana, it was Aeris Williams making big plays by accumulating 101 yards on 11 carries. Which one sees the bulk of the action on Saturday? Oh, Nick Fitzgerald is averaging 133 yards per game and has rushed for four touchdowns. Let’s not forget him.
So that’s how you can watch the Mississippi State football team and some storylines. SEC play starts tonight before the big meeting with you know who!
