Mississippi State football vs Kansas State 2018 preview

The Mississippi State football team will battle the Kansas State Wildcats this weekend
The second game of the 2018 Mississippi State football season is finally here. After the Bulldogs steamrolled the Lumberjacks of Stephen F. Austin last Saturday, the Mississippi State football team headed on over to Manhattan, Kansas to face Bill Snyder’s Kansas State Wildcats.
This is the first game of a home-and-home series between Mississippi State and Kansas State. The Wildcats will come down to Starkville, Mississippi toward the beginning of next season and play in Davis Wade Stadium.
A week ago, when the Bulldogs were demolishing their FCS opponent to get the 2018 season underway, Kansas State was actually struggling with theirs. The South Dakota Coyotes came out and put the Wildcats on upset alert. Ultimately, Kansas State came away with a three point victory and there’s been no shortage of discussion about the game since then.
Bill Snyder came out and said that he didn’t believe his team was fully ready for their game against South Dakota. Some have interpreted that to mean that they’ve been rather fixated and focused on this game against the Bulldogs today for quite some time.
Regardless of whether or not the Wildcats are ready, the game is here. And here at Maroon and White Nation, we’re all hoping that Joe Moorhead and the Mississippi State Bulldogs have fully prepared for this game. It doesn’t matter whether or not Kansas State is prepared. Right now, we’re all just hoping for the Bulldogs to be fully prepared.
It’s officially Mississippi State football game day. If K-State has some tricks up their sleeves and the home atmosphere in Manhattan, Kansas is a hostile one, then the Bulldogs could theoretically have some problems up ahead of them. MSU must approach this game as one that could be rather challenging. The Bulldogs can not allow for themselves to overlook this early out-of-conference opponent for those in the SEC later this season.
Mississippi State must be ready now.
The Bulldogs are built to succeed this season. Nick Fitzgerald is back and the team is responding well to Moorhead’s energy so far. Here’s to hoping that all of this continues and things go in Mississippi State’s favor. The Bulldogs should win this game, but it could be trickier than expected. MSU should win by double-digits, but it’s still hard to predict the outcome of this game. Let’s go with Mississippi State 38 – Kansas State 17.
