Voters saying that Mississippi State football shouldn’t be ranked probably haven’t been paying close enough attention to the Bulldogs lately

The Mississippi State football team has been developing, improving, and setting new standards for itself as time has gone on. Dan Mullen did an incredible job of raising the bar for the Bulldogs and has stocked the cupboards for Joe Moorhead to put Moorhead in position to succeed moving forward.

Mississippi State has won at least nine games in three of the past four season. The Mississippi State football team has been succeeding and is primed to succeed again going into this college football season.

With Moorhead’s ingenuity, an offense built on returning four offensive line starters, Nick Fitzgerald, and Aeris Williams and Kylin Hill in the backfield, MSU is not going to struggle to score much this year.

Add in that the Mississippi State football team has one of the best defensive lines in the country, talent at linebacker, and returning depth in the defensive backfield, then the Bulldogs are definitely going to be rather stout on the defensive side of things.

And still, five writers and AP Poll voters said that MSU should be unranked going into this year. That just doesn’t make much sense for this team. Yes, as was mentioned earlier, Mississippi State will earn more respect as they win. Still, it doesn’t seem to make much sense that the Bulldogs would be unranked by voters here.
