Joe Moorhead Could Be A Legitimate Coach Of The Year Candidate In His First Season With The Bulldogs

If the Mississippi State football team wins 9 or 10 games next year, it’s totally possible that Joe Moorhead will receive legitimate consideration to be the SEC’s coach of the year for the 2018 college football season. Given what MSU returns for next season, that’s a completely obtainable achievement.

That is not a hyperbole. That is not an exaggeration.

Joe Moorhead can win the coach of the year award in his first year with the Mississippi State football team.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs, historically, aren’t exactly known for winning football games. MSU has never been a football powerhouse and has always had to compete against the better teams in the SEC.

The Bulldogs have always had to try and fight their way to the top. It’s not easy to do in the SEC.

However, Joe Moorhead’s team returns 17 starters. The Bulldogs have 20 seniors and 29 juniors. This is a team that is loaded and ready to win as soon as the season starts. State has the pieces that it needs to succeed. If Moorhead can guide MSU to 10 wins in a loaded Southeastern Conference during his first year here, he’ll be in solid consideration for the award.
