Speaking Of Gary Henderson, He Deserves A Head Coaching Job Somewhere
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Gary Henderson deserves to be a head coach.
John Cohen didn’t think that Henderson was the best longterm option for the Bulldogs. That’s totally fine. I don’t know if Henderson is a better head coach than Chris Lemonis and I don’t know more about baseball than John Cohen.
Still, Gary Henderson deserves a head coaching job. Where? I don’t know, but he’s more than earned a shot at a head coaching gig if he wants one. Plenty of schools looking to build or maintain a college baseball program should do everything that they can to get Henderson there. He’s proven that he can succeed when things are stacked against him.
It remains to be seen as to how good Henderson can recruit, but he’s got a great resume for any available job that will have him. He was pretty good at Kentucky, he’s been a great assistant, and now he’s shown he can lead a team to Omaha.
He deserves a shot somewhere.
