This Is A Mississippi State Baseball Season That Chris Lemonis Can Build Upon For The Future
Chris Lemonis is inheriting a team that just played in Omaha. That’s not something that most new college baseball coaches get to boast about. Lemonis is inheriting a team that is put together well enough to win now. He’s going to be expected to win now, but this is a team that won’t need major reconstructing anytime soon.
And, given that there’s a multitude of freshmen, sophomores, and juniors contributing to this team, that means that Lemonis gets to bring back the vast majority of this team that made it to the College World Series.
How often do new head coaches really get to lead a team that was one win away from competing for a national title? Regardless of sport, this is an incredible rarity.
It’s also an incredible blessing for Lemonis and Mississippi State baseball.
Elijah MacNamee promised that the Mississippi State Bulldogs would go on and win the national title next year. That means that Lemonis has a lot to figure out pretty quickly. Luckily for him, Lemonis is getting a team that can succeed now and into the future.
