The Fact That The Bulldogs Get To Keep Jake Gautreau Is Important Going Into Next Season

Mississippi State baseball needs something that resembles continuity. That’s what Jake Gautreau is here for. Gautreau is also here to help create one of the best recruiting staff in the country moving forward with Chris Lemonis.

That’s very valuable for Lemonis and Mississippi State baseball as the Bulldogs actually move forward into next season.

Mississippi State is now on its fourth head coach in four years. 2016 was a great year under John Cohen. 2017 was success under Andy Cannizaro (who isn’t the head coach in Starkville anymore because of stuff off the field, not on the field). 2018 was three games of Andy Cannizaro and then half a season of turmoil and then half a season of bliss with Gary Henderson.

Now it’s time for Chris Lemonis to take the Bulldogs and move them forward. Keeping something that helps tie all of that together for this staff is important. That’s what Jake Gautreau does for MSU.
