John Cohen Got A Good Coach For Mississippi State Baseball, Despite The  Lofty Expectations From MSU Fans

Chris Lemonis is a good coach. Yes, many MSU fans are upset that the Bulldogs didn’t get a bigger name, but that doesn’t mean that Lemonis is a bad coach by any means. He’s also inheriting a team that is loaded and a fanbase that is truly dedicated to college baseball.

Chris Lemonis has everything he needs to have success with moving forward. That’s not something that he’s been able to say at his last head coaching stop.

Even still, Lemonis took Indiana into three different NCAA Tournament Regionals in four years. Prior to Lemonis being at Indiana, the Hoosiers only made it to the NCAA Tournament a grand total of four times. For Indiana to make it to the NCAA Tournament that many times with Lemonis is impressive.

And while that will resonate with some Mississippi State baseball fans, not every single Bulldog fan will enjoy this hire.

And that’s fine.

You may have wanted someone who has been the head coach in multiple College World Series trips. Chris Lemonis isn’t that guy.

At least not yet.

But, it is important to note that Lemonis has been the guy that built the teams that took Louisville to three College World Series while he was with the Cardinals. Lemonis also found ways to win with the pieces that he had at Indiana. He’s known for recruiting and has everything he needs to recruit at the highest possible level in Starkville.

Chris Lemonis has everything he needs to succeed. It’s important to acknowledge that.
