The New York Mets Draft Jake Mangum

Annnnnd Jake Mangum turned them down. Pretty quickly, actually. But, that doesn’t mean that Jake Mangum wasn’t drafted by the New York Mets. The Mets decided to select Mangum in the 32nd round as a left handed pitcher.

Which is admittedly a little weird as Mangum is typically a centerfielder. But, hey, being drafted is still being drafted.

Mangum will be back next season. He’s already confirmed that. And the Mississippi State baseball program will certainly welcome having their most consistent hitter from the past three years back for a fourth.

Mangum has done just about everything in his time in Starkville. He’s been to three Super Regionals and has accomplished quite a bit. His career isn’t done yet and neither is this season. Mangum is almost certainly aiming for more this season and a better spot in the draft next season.
