According to D1Baseball’s Kendall Rogers, Jim Schlossnagle doesn’t want to come coach Mississippi State baseball

It looks like the Mississippi State baseball search won’t include Jim Schlossnagle any longer. According to a new report by D1Baseball’s Kendall Rogers, the head coach of the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs will remain as the head coach of the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs.

Schlossnagle was one of the names recently tied to the search. Recently, Kendall Rogers stated that Schlossnagle remained a candidate for the head coaching gig. However, it looks like that is no longer the case.

Although John Cohen couldn’t get this hire completed, that doesn’t mean that Mississippi State isn’t without plenty of solid options out there. Though Schlossnagle turned MSU down, that still leaves several other candidates out there.

Dan McDonnell is one name that many Mississippi State fans want to hear linked to the search. Given the Bulldogs’ recent victories over Louisville in football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball, it would present plenty of meme opportunities.

Not getting Schlossnagle stings. The head coach has done monumental things at TCU. He could certainly have accomplished plenty in Starkville. But now, John Cohen and Mississippi State baseball will have to look elsewhere for the next head coach of the Bulldogs.

Where will Mississippi State baseball turn next? Rogers is still confident that the Bulldogs will find a high level coach to come to Starkville. But, hopefully John Cohen will find a coach sooner rather than later. It would certainly ease everyone’s mind if a hire was made quickly. Hopefully it’s a big name hire that’ll quiet some of the criticism coming out about this.
