Why Is Dan Mullen Convinced That The Florida Game Is The Biggest Game Of The Year?

I know he often seemed to forget about the Egg Bowl, but what’s going on here? Earlier this month, Dan Mullen stated that he didn’t know “I don’t know if there will ever be a bigger game played in the state of Mississippi, to the people in Mississippi.”

The Florida game, all things considered, isn’t even the third most important game of the 2018 Mississippi State football season when you start looking at actual implications this season.

Here’s two games this year that are more important than the Florida game based purely on actual longterm implications for this year:

  1. Alabama
  2. Auburn

Why are these games more important? Well, if Mississippi State wants to win the SEC West, which Joe Moorhead is aiming to do, then the Bulldogs will need to make sure that they beat these two teams to make sure that they can do that. Auburn and Alabama have claimed the West over the past few years.

It’s not even the most important game of the 2018 Mississippi State football season when you look at emotions attached to the game.
