Who Will Step Up At Wide Receiver For The Mississippi State Football Team?

During the 2016 Mississippi State football season, Nick Fitzgerald’s passing stats were solid and he was able to connect with senior receiver Fred Ross for over 900 yards and 12 touchdowns. During the 2017 Mississippi State football season, Nick Fitzgerald didn’t have a Fred Ross to turn to.

As such, the Bulldogs struggled a bit to get the ball moving through the air. Fitzgerald’s completion percentage increased from 54.3 percent to 55.6 percent, but his yardage was notably down in his redshirt junior season.

He needs some help from his wide receivers this year. Mississippi State has a few options at wide receiver, but who will step up this season and get the ball moving?

Will it be one of the newcomers such as Devonta Jason or Austin Williams? Or, will one of Mississippi State’s receivers from years past finally take a step forward and be a reliable pass catching option for the Bulldogs?
