Safety

With Brandon Bryant’s departure, the Mississippi State football team has to replace a longtime contributor. On top of that, a couple of safeties are gone from the depth chart from last season as well.

But, the Bulldogs do return several starters and have plenty of experience in the defensive backfield still remaining. Mark McLaurin and Johnathan Abram both had pretty big years last season. Expect them to succeed again in 2018.

  • Starter- Johnathan Abram
  • Starter- Mark McLaurin
    • Mark McLaurin should be set to help lead this unit alongside Johnathan Abram this year. After McLaurin’s big showing by picking off Lamar Jackson multiple times in the bowl game, this duo is equipped for a solid season in 2018.
  • Backup- Jaquarias Landrews
  • Backup- Landon Guidry
  • Backup- C.J. Morgan
