Defensive Tackle

The 2017 iteration of the Mississippi State football team featured a wealth of depth at defensive tackle. The 2018 version might just be even better. Cory Thomas started the season as the starter but ended up sitting out of a couple games once he was injured.

Braxton Hoyett took his place and performed well. Expect him to be ready if needed here again. He’s got the most experience of any of the backups and that helps move him toward the top of this rotation.

It’s very possible that given Hoyett’s experience, he’ll start at some point this year.

  • Starter- Cory Thomas
    • Right now, I expect that Cory Thomas will more than likely claim that starting spot he had a year ago. But, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him share it with Hoyett this year.
  • Backup- Braxton Hoyett
    • Hoyett has plenty of experience. He’ll get plenty of opportunities because of that going forward.
  • Backup- Tre Brown
  • Backup- Grant Harris
