How Have Previous Meetings Between These Teams Gone?

The Mississippi State softball team hasn’t had much luck against the Tennessee Lady Vols throughout the history of Bulldogs’ softball. And recent history certainly hasn’t been kind to Mississippi State when these two teams have met.

Through the last 10 matchups between these two teams, dating back to 2012, Mississippi State has only won a pair of games. Those two wins both came in 2014 as the Mississippi State Bulldogs claimed the series from the Tennessee Lady Vols up in Knoxville.

Since then, however, Tennessee has won 6 straight. That’s two consecutive sweeps. 2015 and 2016 weren’t overly entertaining series to watch.

Mississippi State is going to need a strong showing across the board for the Bulldogs to come out on top of this one. Whether or not MSU actually gets one remains to be seen.
