Gerri Green’s Move To Defensive End Is Perfect

Mississippi State football will have a monstrous defensive front to try and keep up with in 2018. Very few teams will actually be able to do it. Last season, Todd Grantham did a great job of using multiple defensive linemen to create pressure.

It worked.

The Bulldogs were incredible at disrupting offenses thanks to their defensive line. And it’s getting even better in 2018. Gerri Green has officially made the move to defensive end. That’ll give Bob Shoop a far more versatile front seven to work with going forward.

In 2017, Green recorded 11.0 tackles for loss. He caused 5.0 sacks. That number could certainly increase in 2018 as he lines up alongside Montez Sweat, Jeffery Simmons, and Chauncey Rivers.

Mississippi State football will have a very solid pass rush. We’ll dive a bit more into that later. But, for now, just know that Gerri Green will add much to what the Bulldogs can do with their defensive line.
