Mississippi State baseball looks to take Governor’s Cup from Ole Miss

Mississippi State baseball has been doing pretty well against some of the best teams in the nation this season. The Bulldogs are fresh off of a series in which they completely swept the third ranked Arkansas Razorbacks. Just before that series, they gave the Memphis Tigers their 13th win of the year.

This has been a pretty weird baseball season so far.

And now, Mississippi State is set to play Ole Miss for the fourth time this year. The Bulldogs and Rebels will play for the Governor’s Cup down in Pearl, Mississippi this evening. Here’s everything you need to watch the game.

Game Information

  • Who is playing? Mississippi State Bulldogs (22-19 overall, 8-10 SEC) vs University of Mississippi Rebels (32-9 overall, 10-8 SEC)
  • Where are they playing? Trustmask Park in Pearl, Mississippi

Mississippi State has already proven that the Bulldogs can upset the Rebels and take them down in a variety of ways. MSU has blown out Ole Miss by 10 runs and has also come back to beat their rival in extra innings.

Now, Mississippi State will have to find a way to beat the Rebels in a midweek matchup. It won’t be easy, but this is a win that MSU could pull out. Of course, after Ole Miss was embarrassed earlier this season, they’re likely to be paying close attention to this matchup.
