2015

In 2014, Mississippi State football reached new heights. The Bulldogs became the number one team in the nation and were riding high. The season didn’t end as many hoped it might, but Mississippi State had plenty of success in 2014.

In 2015, the Bulldogs were bringing back several key pieces for their offense. They lost several key contributors from both sides of the ball, but Dak Prescott was back for another year. As was De’Runnya Wilson and Fred Ross. The Bulldogs were looking to score on anyone and everyone. The 2015 spring game helped MSU start getting ready for that.

Mississippi State was also beginning to prepare for life after Dak Prescott. The Bulldogs started featuring their younger quarterbacks in this game and allowed them to get reps and time on the field.

Beyond the offense, Manny Diaz made his return and was helping shape the defense yet again. Fans were hopeful that in his return to Starkville, he would stay for a while. But, as we all know now, he bolted at the first opportunity he got to go to Miami.

2015 had its ups and downs, but it was a good season. The Maroon and White game helped set up for that.

And now, to the most important spring game from the Dan Mullen era of Mississippi State football.
