Nick Fitzgerald Can Set His Name At The Top Of Several Mississippi State Football Records
Nick Fitzgerald is entering into his senior season in 2018. Through the past couple of seasons that he has played, Fitzgerald has been incredibly under appreciated and underrated. The reason I say that is because Fitz has started to climb up in the record books for Mississippi State football and is set to continue moving on up.
He’s done that despite having to outscore offenses that could torch Peter Sirmon’s paper thin defense in 2016. Then, Fitzgerald set the Bulldogs up for success in 2017 despite having questions at wide receiver.
Now, he’s got one last run up ahead of him. Dan Mullen left town but Joe Moorhead arrived. And the new Mississippi State head coach is looking forward to utilizing Fitzgerald to his full potential in 2018.
On top of that, Fitzgerald has several new receivers around him, his offensive line is returning four full-time starters and then a guy who started four games last year, and the Bulldogs will have a decent defense to provide support for Fitz.

This creates an environment that will allow for Mississippi State’s offense to succeed and for Fitzgerald to get closer to reaching his ceiling. That will give him an opportunity to claim a few of the Bulldogs’ records once this season is done. With all that Fitz has accomplished so far and what he could do this year, it’s completely possible that he’ll have his name as the placeholder for some of these record.
Let’s dive into what records Fitzgerald might be able to hold once his career is done in Starkville.
