The Mississippi State Baseball Team Has a Better Group of Pitchers Than Auburn’s Team

There aren’t many teams in the Southeastern conference that feature worse pitching than Mississippi State baseball right now. But, well, there’s a few. Five to be exact. And luckily enough for MSU, the Auburn Tigers happen to be just one of them.

That Bulldogs aren’t great on the mound, but their pitchers can still win when paired with enough timely hits. Mississippi State also have a pretty good starting rotation and they should give MSU enough opportunities this weekend.

Mississippi State’s pitching staff, as a whole, has a 3.55 ERA. Again, not great, but MSU can win with that. But, State is actually in a tied for second in the SEC when it comes to striking opponents out.  The Bulldogs have struck out a total of 328 batters this season.

Auburn’s pitchers have struggled a bit. The Tigers have struck out 310 batters, which is pretty good. But, they combine to have a 3.98 ERA as a team. That’s not pretty good.

Mississippi State might be able to outwork Auburn’s pitchers. Especially if the bats can get hot at the right time.
