The First Home Run in the New Dudy Noble Field Is Grand
The Mississippi State baseball team has officially gotten things going again in Starkville, Mississippi. As the Bulldogs are currently undefeated in the New Dudy Noble Field after beating New Mexico State yesterday, they hit their first home run in the new stadium today.
And let me tell you, it’s certainly a grand one.
After struggling to score all night against a solid pitching performance from New Mexico State, the Bulldogs broke through in the 6th. Junior lefty Alex Pinedo did well for the New Mexico State Aggies the entire evening.
Right up until he didn’t. After throwing for 5.2 innings and striking out 6 batters, Pinedo started to struggle. The Bulldogs crept their way onto base in the 6th inning. First, Tanner Allen got on thanks to a throwing error. Then, with an out, Luke Alexander hit a single to move Allen to 2nd. With two outs, Marshall Gilbert walked to load the bases. After Elijah MacNamee earned a bases loaded walk to get a 1-0 lead, things changed quickly.
That’s when New Mexico State pulled Pinedo and replaced him with Alvaro Castillo. And with the bases loaded, Alvaro Castillo met Rowdey Jordan. And Rowdey Jordan made history in the New Dudy Noble Field.

The first home run in the New Dudy Noble came in the form of that grand slam right there. Rowdey Jordan put the Bulldogs up 5-0 on the New Mexico State Aggies by giving that ball a ride past the outfield. MSU is still currently up 5-0 on the Aggies. The Bulldogs will look to get the win and remain undefeated in a shiny new stadium. You can get what you need to keep up with the game right here.
