Bulldogs Host Eagles for Midweek Matchup

Mississippi State is set to tackle the Boston College Eagles softball team tomorrow. At 6:00 central, the Bulldogs and Boston College will match up to play in Nusz Park. Mississippi State has been successful so far and boasts a 16-3 record. Their opponents, however, have been struggling and are currently 5-9 on the year.

Boston College has done quite a bit of traveling this season. From playing in the Aggie Classic down in College Station, Texas to get their season started and then playing in Atlanta and Miami, Boston College has been all over the place.

At the Aggie Classic, BC met up with some tough opponents. The Eagles went winless in Aggieland after trying to take down Texas Tech, Texas A&M, and the University of Houston. From there, Boston College actually remained in Texas for one more game and it’s where they got their first win. In San Marcos, Texas, Boston College beat Texas State University 4-3.

After 5 games in Texas, Boston College headed east to Atlanta to contend in the ACC-B1G challenge. BC found some measure of success in the challenge and split their four games against Indiana and Nebraska evenly at 2-2.

From there, the Eagles racked up even more airline miles and moved on down to Miami to play in the FIU Classic. Boston College actually claimed two wins in south Florida, but they came against inferior opponents such as Siena College and Central Connecticut State. The Eagles lost both of their games against FIU and a game to Michigan State.

And now, Boston College is in the state of Mississippi. The Eagles are in Oxford today but will be coming down to Starkville tomorrow. The Bulldogs would love to be able to add yet another out of conference win to their record, and they’ll certainly have a chance to do so against Boston College.
