#27: 2012 – Mississippi State 78 vs. Vanderbilt 77
There was a point in time where it looked like the 2012 team was going to have a great season. After a thrilling overtime win at Vanderbilt, the team was 16-4 and ranked #18 in the country. They’d go on to be as high as a 19-5 record before the fall.
Ultimately this team would cost Rick Stansbury his job. They tanked down the stretch losing seven of their last nine including the SEC tournament and NIT. And seemed to not care all the while. It was a team that featured three future NBA players, two of which were first round picks and a 5-star recruit.
