#28: 1996 NCAA Tournament – Mississippi State 63 vs. Princeton 41
March Madness is March Madness because of the upsets, and that’s exactly what Princeton did to defending national champion UCLA in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
MSU had lost to UCLA on their way to winning the national title in 1995, so facing them again in the second round was a daunting proposition. Fortunately for the Bulldogs, Princeton did the dirty work.
The Tigers were no easy team to beat with all their back-door passes and old school style, but MSU laid into them and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the second straight year.
