Number 1: The Texas A&M Aggies

I will be honest when I say I don’t think it will be an upset. The only way I see the Aggies even entering the game as a favorite is if they beat South Carolina in the first week of the season. The Aggies were predicted to finish sixth in the SEC West, and the Bulldogs were picked to finish fifth. That tells you most of the media that covers the SEC think the Bulldogs are going to win this game. Despite that, the Aggies will start the 2014 season ranked in both the AP and Coaches’ poll. I don’t really understand that, but I also am not a voter. I think the Aggies will have some talent on the field, but they have to replace a whole lot of pieces this season.

“Upset” chances: 65% I put that in quotation marks because I don’t think this will be considered an upset. Texas A&M is going to have a hard time going to Colombia the first week of the season and beating the Gamecocks. They should win the other games they have before they play the Bulldogs, but the Aggies are going to have a real hard time scoring points at the rate they will need to against the Bulldogs’ defense with as much as they are losing. The Aggies will score points, but the defense they field may not get a single stop this game. The Bulldogs defense may be one of the best in the SEC this year, and will be able to slow down the Aggies enough to pull this one out.
