8. Alabama

It looked like the Tide were poised for their third straight BCS national championship, then they went to the Plains and had that field goal run back for a touchdown. A trip to the Sugar Bowl was spoiled by losing to Oklahoma.

Not a good year for Bama on the hardcourt – 13-19 on the year.

Baseball got back on track with a really good start, but they tailed off towards the end. Still, Alabama made a Regional in which they eliminated national seed Florida State and nearly won pushing Kennesaw State to a Game 7.
