Mississippi State football is in the midst of a busy National Signing Day, as Jeff Lebby and his staff look to lay their foundation for the future in Starkville. And today, Lebby landed a crucial player for his program's future.
Elite 4-star quarterback KaMario Taylor signs with Mississippi State
The most important piece in Mississippi State's 2025 signing class is officially headed to Starkville. 4-star Quarterback KaMario Taylor from Macon, MS signed with the Bulldogs on Wednesday.
As a 94-overall prospect per the 247 Sports Composite Rank, Taylor is the highest-rated quarterback to ever sign with Mississippi State. He is a top five player in the state of Mississippi and a top 15 quarterback nationally. He chose the Bulldogs over Texas A&M and Georgia.
At 6-3.5, 205, Taylor is a physical specimen with a powerful arm and great athleticism. He impressed at the Elite 11 finals as one of the most gifted players in attendance.
KaMario Taylor has been the crown jewel of the 2025 class for well over a year now, having committed to the Bulldogs during his junior year back in October of 2023. During that time, he has been nothing but locked-in on staying home and suiting up for the Bulldogs.
Even with a coaching change taking place during that time, Taylor never budged. In fact, landing Jeff Lebby only helped State's chances of holding onto Taylor.
KaMario Taylor could be the future face of the program
To say KaMario Taylor is a massive get for Mississippi State is an understatement. He's a truly elite athlete and high-level quarterback. He's still a bit raw in terms of his development as a passer, but the tools are all there for him to become a monster. And who better to bring him along than Jeff Lebby?
Taylor has the makings of a superstar, and with his signing, you have to feel good about State being set at QB for the foreseeable future. Michael Van Buren just wrapped up an impressive debut season. If Taylor can develop behind him, State is going to field some of the best QB play in the SEC.
KaMario Taylor feels like the future face of the Mississippi State program. But it's not going overboard to say that his ceiling is high enough to be one of the future faces of the SEC.
