College Football Rivalry Week predictions
In terms of huge battles featuring a pair of contending teams, we don't have much in the national slate, but these games should be fun nonetheless.
Minnesota at Wisconsin
Chase: Wisconsin is looking to give their all to finish the season. Minnesota almost pulled an upset last week, which was impressive. I expect Minnesota to win this game within a few points. Minnesota wins
Reed: I think the Gophers have been more consistent as a team this year with a deeper roster which will allow them to win a close one. Minnesota wins
Andrew: Wisconsin just isn’t that great, and Minnesota has been better. However, the Badgers haven’t missed a bowl since 2001, and with this game in Madison, I see an all-out effort to get this rivalry win and go bowling. Wisconsin wins
Michigan at 2 Ohio State
Chase: Ohio State put on a masterpiece against pretender Indiana last weekend. Rivalry games are special this time of the year, especially between Ohio State and Michigan. Ohio State will once again show their dominance as they prepare for a chance at a Big 10 championship. Ohio State wins
Reed: The Buckeyes end the losing streak to the Wolverines with their elite receivers and deep and talented defense. Ohio State wins
Andrew: We don’t need much discussion, which is odd for this rivalry but is the reality. The Buckeyes are far better and are at home. Ohio State wins
5 Notre Dame at USC
Chase: Notre Dame is one of a few teams that control their destiny. Notre Dame will not have any problem as they head to Los Angeles. USC won’t put up much of a fight in this matchup as they are still figuring out their team as a whole. Notre Dame wins
Reed: The Irish have arguably the best defense in the country, and they will give Lincoln Riley fits all game. Notre Dame wins
Andrew: I expect a close game. This is an important game for the Trojans to right some of this season’s wrongs. But the Irish are playing as well as anyone in the country, and they need this win to secure a playoff-berth. Notre Dame wins
24 Kansas State at 18 Iowa State
Chase: This matchup will be back and forth as the score will be high. Iowa State has shown flashes of brilliance through their offense and defense. Kansas State is an up and down team I do not trust. Iowa State wins
Reed: In my opinion, these teams are virtually equal, but I think the difference here will be the home field advantage. Iowa State wins
Andrew: Farmaggedon is a beautiful rivalry. I’m taking K-State for the simple fact that Iowa State, who has never had a 10-win season, is now one win away from changing that. And it would be on brand to fall short of that goal against the rivals with the Big 12 championship on the line. Kansas State wins
