An NFL champion, and three-time First-Team All-Pro member, a Second-Team All-Pro member, a five-time Pro Bowler, on the list of 100 greatest Bears of All-Time, and on the NFL 1950s All-Decade Team.

Joe Fortunato not only has one of the greatest NFL careers by a former Bulldog, he has one of the greatest NFL careers in general.

Over 12 seasons, Fortunato palyed in 155 games. He had 22 fumble recoveries, 16 interceptions, and 2 defensive touchdowns.

Fortunato played his entire professional career with the Chicago Bears and went on to be an assistant coach in Chicago for two seasons.

From 1962-65, Fortunato had four consecutive appearances in the Pro Bowl and earned three First-Team All-Pro honors in the stretch.

The peak of Fortunato's career came in 1963 when he and the Bears won the NFL championship game.
