There is hope that new head coach Jeff Lebby will bring some punch back to the Mississippi State offense. That's going to be tough though given that a complete philosophy and roster overhaul takes time.

Hurting that effort was the departure of QB Will Rogers for Washington. Now, the hope is that Baylor transfer Blake Shapen can pilot the offense successfully after having some ups and downs in Waco.

Louisville wideout Kevin Coleman and UTEP transfer Kelly Akharaiyi could be potential big-play threats as targets for Shapen. However, competing along the line of scrimmage, on both sides of the ball, could be a challenge for Lebby's team in 2024.
