Mississippi State Football's Jaden Crumedy has Good Showing at 2024 NFL Combine

Four former Mississippi State football players are participating in the 2024 NFL Combine. One former Bulldog in attendance is defensive lineman Jaden Crumedy. A five-year starter along the defensive line, Crumedy finished his career with 119 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and 16 tackles for loss.

Jaden Crumedy is a fantastic run defender. And though is pass rush numbers don't necessarily jump off the page, he was a massive (literally) presence along the defensive interior for Mississippi State, often making an impact in ways that don't show up on the stat sheet. His ability to eat up space freed up rush lanes for blitzers in State's aggressive defense, like linebacker Nathaniel Watson.

Though that's not to say he can't be an incredibly disruptive pass rusher on his own...

Mississippi State has a long history of producing big time defensive lineman, and Jaden Crumedy is looking to become the next. How did he perform at the Combine?

Here were Jaden Crumedy's key measurments at the 2024 NFL Combine:

• Height: 6'4"

• Weight: 304 lbs

• Arm Length: 33"

• Hand Size: 10 1/2"

Crumedy ran an official 4.97 40-yard dash. That was good for sixth amongst defensive tackles. Florida State's Braden Fiske led the position with a 4.78.

Jaden Crumedy was tied for twelfth in the vertical jump with a 29.50" and was tied for fifteenth in the broad jump with a 8'9". Fiske led defensive tackles in both categories with a 33.50" and 9'9", respectively. Crumedy had a particularly good showing in the 20-yard shuttle, posting a 4.66 which was third for his position. Fiske again led with a 4.37.

Relative Athletic Score, or "RAS", is a way to grade a player's athleticism relative to their position on a 0-10 scale. After his Combine performance, Crumedy earned a strong RAS. Crumedy scored an unofficial 8.62 RAS, meaning he has good athleticism for a defensive tackle. He was graded as having good size, good explosiveness, and great speed.

Crumedy was likely a late-round prospect coming into the Combine, but there's a chance he's moved up some draft boards.
