Mississippi State basketball looking to return to first SEC Championship Game in 14 years

With a win over Auburn, Mississippi State basketball would play in the SEC Championship Game for the first time since 2010. The Bulldogs played in consecutive SEC Championship Games under Rick Stansbury in 2009 and 2010. The 2009 team won the championship over Tennessee to steal a bid to the NCAA Tournament. In 2010, State fell in overtime to Kentucky in the final and, controversially, missed out on the Big Dance.

This season, MSU's tournament hopes won't be on the line. They'll be in the tournament even with a loss in the semifinals. But the Bulldogs want to keep their positive momentum going into the rest of the postseason. And of course they'd love to have the chance to play for the SEC championship on Sunday. We'll see if they can stay hot against Auburn.
