There's no hotter topic for college football fans currently than the return of a college football video game. After going more than a decade without a game, the wait is almost over. EA SPORTS College Football 25 is set to be released this summer.
Last week, a PlayStation Store leak unveiled the game's Deluxe Edition cover the public. On Thursday, EA officially released that cover along with the standard cover, which features Texas QB Quinn Ewers, Colorado CB/WR Travis Hunter, and Michigan RB Donovan Edwards. They also announced an official release date of July 19 and pre-order details.
The cover reveal was simply a teaser, however, for what EA would unveil on Friday.

Friday morning, college football fans got what they had long been waiting for: the official trailer for EA SPORTS College Football 25. And needless to say, it lived up to the hype.
The trailer, set to the tune of Guns 'N' Roses' Welcome to the Jungle, showcases exactly what EA intends to emphasize for the new game: embracing the pageantry of college football. The game is going to highlight the unique traditions, wild stadium atmospheres, and heated rivalries that make college football great.
Another great thing about the trailer is that it shows EA intends to create a great experience for fans of all FBS teams. While they take the time to show-off powerhouse programs like Alabama, Georgia, and Texas, Group of 5 darlings Wyoming, App State, and Army are also featured with nods to the traditions of those programs.
The only downside to the trailer was the lack of gameplay, but it still delivered on its intended purpose of firing up fans for a long-awaited game's return.

Along with the trailer, more details on in-game features and game modes were announced. Dynasty and Road to Glory, far and away the most popular game modes in the original series, return. Ultimate Team, which was featured in the last installment of the series in 2013 and has become incredibly popular in Madden, and the new Road to the College Football Playoff will be the focus of online play.
Team-builder, another fan-favorite feature that lets players create a custom program to introduce into the game, is back. And an important feature for players looking to compete with friends online regardless of console preferences, College Football 25 will support cross-play between the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S.
It was a glorious day for college football fans, and now we're just counting down the days until July 19. That day can't get here soon enough.
