Mississippi State basketball adds huge commitment to already elite 2025 signing class
Signing Day for the 2025 class of men's basketball prospects was a highly-successful one for Mississippi State basketball. The Bulldogs landed a trio of 4-stars that gave them what was, at the time, a Top-10 class in the country.
Well now, that class as gotten even better.
4-star center Tee Bartlett commits to Mississippi State basketball
There were rumblings that the Bulldog's weren't done adding talent to their 2025 class. That proved to be the case Friday night when 4-star center Tee Bartlett made his commitment to Mississippi State.
Bartlett is a massive pick-up for Mississippi State, both figuratively and literally. He has a huge frame at 6-10, 274 pounds. His offer sheet is impressive, with the likes of USC, Miami, Illinois, Kansas State, Arizona State, and Providence all targeting the California-native.
The 247 Composite ranks Tee Bartlett as the nation's 63rd-best prospect and 7th-best center with a 97 rating. Following his commitment, the Mississippi State class now ranks all the way up at #5 in the country. That's the highest-ranked class since the Stansbury-era in Starkville.
Chris Jans has brought in a legitimately elite class to Mississippi State.
Mississippi State is committed to winning at a high level in basketball
There's no question about it now. Mississippi State is committed to winning at the highest-level in men's basketball. Between facility upgrades, a massive, $4.2 million a year contract for Chris Jans, fan support, and success both in the high school and transfer portal ranks in recruiting (a pretty clear sign that NIL is in a very good place), State is doing what is necessary to field a top program.
There was talk at the time Chris Jans was hired that MSU was arguably the toughest job in the SEC outside of Vanderbilt. There's certainly been a volatile history for the program with hot and cold support. But right now, they're making it clear they have no interest in mediocrity and occasional solid seasons in a brutal SEC. They're working to be one of the best teams in one of the best leagues.
