Q: Last season the Tigers had one of the very best RBs in the country with Cody Schrader. They turned to transfers Nate Noel and Marcus Carroll to replace his production. How has that transition gone?

A: Running back was a massive question mark coming into the season, but adding Nate Noel in the transfer portal has been great. Obviously it’s tough to replace what Schrader did last season, but when Noel has been healthy, he’s been elite. With that being said, Noel has dealt with injuries this season and missed multiple games. Carroll has had flashes this season, but ultimately settles in nicely as a number two. Jamal Roberts has been impressive and is a name to note for next season. Ultimately, the offense looks best when its run game is active and they’ll be healthy this week.

Q: Mizzou was without Brady Cook for most of the Bama game and against Oklahoma, and the offense clearly struggled in his absence. In his return last week though, it seemed to spark things. How big has he been for the Tigers over these last two years?

A: Brady Cook came into this year with expectations through the roof after winning the Cotton Bowl last season. It’s been tough to evaluate his play because of how injured he’s been all season. He still isn’t going to be fully healthy against Mississippi State, but he’s going to play though it. Cook has ultimately made the team better this year.

Q: Luther Burden III is undoubtedly one of the most talented WRs in the nation, but he hasn't had the year most expected from him. What's led to the decline in production?

A: I think Luther Burden is arguably the most talented receiver in this draft class. However, quarterback production hasn’t been great playing with a backup for multiple weeks. I’d expect Burden to get unleashed this week with Cook back at the helm.
