Mississippi State football is back in action this Saturday after having a bye last weekend. The Bulldogs are hoping to find anything positive in these final two games to build on going into next season, and they have an intriguing opportunity in Starkville when they host Missouri.

The Tigers are 7-3 and ranked 23rd in the nation, but they've looked quite beatable for most of the season. For a team that entered the year with sky high expectations, they've fallen well short of those goals, and that may be a good thing for a Bulldogs squad hungry for an upset.

Missouri is one of those program's I'd imagine most Mississippi State fans don't have a ton of familiarity with. So to get to know this Tigers team, I did some fraternizing with the enemy, talking to Truman's Tales site expert Zach Sweet. Zach gave us the rundown on all things Mizzou, so we can get a good idea of what's in store on Saturday when the Tigers come to Starkville.

Q&A with Truman's Tales site expert Zach Sweet

Q: Mizzou came into the season with expectations of reaching the playoff, but after taking their 3rd loss, that won't be happening. Are there any concerns about this team fading down the stretch with the playoff out of reach, or do you feel confident Drinkwitz will keep them locked in?

A: I think Drinkwitz will have his team ready to go regardless of their third loss. All three losses have been to teams ranked in the top-25. While the losses haven’t been competitive, I think Mizzou is still a good football team. Drinkwitz has had plenty of ups and downs this season, but overall I think the team will be ready to go.
