The offseason has not been kind to Mississippi State women's basketball. Since their season came to an end, the Bulldogs have seen a mass exodus from the roster, and that includes the losses of major contributors. Here is every player to enter the portal...

2025 Mississippi State women's basketball transfer portal entrants

Seven players from the 2024-2025 roster entered the transfer portal, and the majority of those transfers were key pieces to the lineup.

Center Madina Okot

An absolutely gutting loss for the Bulldogs, Madina Okot was a huge piece for State last season. The Kenyan center averaged 11.3 points and 9.6 rebounds with 12 double-doubles. Okot staying would have given Mississippi State one of the best centers in the nation. She is instead transferring to SEC powerhouse South Carolina.

Guard Debreasha Powe

Another tough pill to swallow, Debreasha Powe was a three-year starter for Mississippi State at the wing. An outstanding shooter, Powe averaged 8.4 points per game last season while making nearly 40% of her three-point attempts. Making her decision to transfer more painful for State, she is headed to rival Ole Miss.

Guard Denim DeShields

Unideal losses to the roster is the theme for State in the portal this year. Denim DeShields was a starting guard for the Bulldogs, averaging 5.7 points and 3.2 assists. And she too will be headed to Ole Miss next season.

Center Quanirah Montague

Yet another contributor for the Bulldogs in the portal. Quanirah Montague was State's No. 2 option at center behind Madina Okot. The sophomore averaged 4.6 points and 3.7 rebounds last season. As is a theme with the contributors to transfer out, Montague is staying in the SEC, as she has landed at Auburn.

Forward Tahj-Monet Bloom

A Top 50 player nationally in the Class of 2024, Tahj-Monet Bloom was Mississippi State's highest rated freshman last season. Unfortunately, she suffered a non-basketball injury that sidelined her for the entire season. She will leave MSU without having ever played. Her destination is unknown.

Guard Anaisha Carriere

A true freshman last season, Anaisha Carriere saw limited opportunities with just 10 appearances at 1.6 minutes per game. She is not yet committed from the portal.

Guard Shakirah Edwards

Another freshman, Shakirah Edwards was a 4-star signee. Edwards played in 11 games as a true freshman, averaging 1.1 points. She has not yet announced a commitment elsewhere.
