The Mississippi State Bulldogs (1-4) head east to face off with the #5 Georgia Bulldogs (4-1) this Saturday in Athens. Let's take a look at the matchup and make a final prediction before the game.

Mississippi State's offense has to get around the Georgia defensive front as much as possible

Georgia has superstars in its defensive Front-7. They always do because that's how Kirby Smart has built them, and like always, they've got a big edge up front compared to the Mississippi State offensive line. That's more true this year than most considering the issues MSU has had blocking. For MSU to find success offensively, they need to try and "get around" the UGA front as much as possible. Quick-hitting runs to the edge and perimeter screens need to be go-to plays. Michael Van Buren needs to get involved in the run game at QB. That will be their best chance to put points on the board.

Mississippi State's defense will need to force Carson Beck into mistakes on Saturday

Georgia has one of the nation's top QBs in Carson Beck, and considering State's defensive woes, he's likely to pick the MSU defense apart on Saturday. But we have seen defenses create some issues for Beck. If you can create some confusion with coverage, he has a tendency to put the ball in harms way. This also goes for him under pressure. UGA is injured along the OL, allowing defenses to get after Beck some in recent weeks. If MSU can pressure Beck and disguise coverage, they have a shot to slow down UGA.

Final prediction for Mississippi State Bulldogs vs Georgia Bulldogs

I'd love for Mississippi State to keep the wackiness of this college football season going with a massive upset in Athens, but I don't see it. It's going to be hard for a MSU offense led by a freshman QB with a struggling OL to get much going against the UGA defense, and MSU's own defense is easily picked apart by even bad offenses. Perhaps they can hang around for a half, but Georgia wins big.
