2023 college football conference championship week picks and predictions

Sun Belt: App State @ Troy (-6.5) (O/U 52.5)

Evan: App State won their Super Bowl when they took down James Madison in overtime with the eyes of Gameday on them. All that emotion has already been expended on the season and Troy is going on a business trip. Troy -6.5

Justin: Troy is boring but they win. Troy -6.5

Ethan: Troy’s defense is really good, but I’ve been fascinated with how Appalachian State has turned things around as of late. There were some midseason struggles, but the Mountaineers are rolling and just punished Georgia Southern with a dominant beating. I think App State shocks some folks here. App State +6.5

John: App State is perennially a top contender in the Sun Belt, but John Sumrall has the best reputation as a coach in that league right now. Still, one could argue that App State had the harder schedule of the two teams, which might explain the difference in the record here. App State +6.5

Ryan: I like Troy here. Don’t know why. Don’t know much about either outside of Sumrall has done a fantastic job at Troy. I’ll take the better coach here. Troy -6.5

Andrew: Troy is the better team, but App State has turned it on over the back half of the season. I think the Trojans win, but App covers. App State +6.5
