Best Bets

Evan: Miami @ No. 4 Florida State – I am putting Miami on Clowning Alert. I think FSU is going to absolutely leave no doubt about where they stand in the ACC in their last conference game before the ACC Championship game. FSU IS my first official lock for the College Football Playoff, place your futures now. FSU -14

Justin: Arizona at Colorado – Early season darling Colorado has come way back down to earth recently. The offense has stalled and Coach Prime decided to scapegoat OC Sean Lewis by taking away playcalling. The Buffs then went out and still played like garbage on the offensive side of the ball. Arizona has been better than expected and they can put points on the board. Arizona at least covers and possibly outright wins. Arizona -10.5

Ryan: USC @ No. 6 Oregon –  USC looks like they’re about as demoralized and broken as any team in the country after their loss to Washington last week and they’re playing a team with one of the most ruthless and intense coaches in all of college football. Oregon will put the final nail in the USC coffin with authority. Oregon -15

John: Cincinnati @ Houston –  Ethan will love me for this one. I’m going with Houston -2.5 over the Cincinnati Bearcats. Cincy is awful this year, and Travis Kelce ain’t walking through that tunnel to help them. Gimme the angry man and the Cougs to cover this spread. Houston -2.5

Ethan: Texas State @ Coastal Carolina – There’s a really fun matchup in the Sun Belt this weekend between Coastal Carolina and Texas State. And yes, I’m aware that there are suddenly a number of Mississippi State fans who are now paying attention to Texas State’s season (you’re welcome for that). The Bobcats have gone through an unparalleled rebuild and GJ Kinne’s veer-and-shoot offense is now set to meet up with a Coastal Carolina team that is rolling right now. The over/under is set at 57.5 points, but I’m not convinced that’s high enough. TXST/CC O57.5

Andrew: Indiana @ Illinois – Indiana has had a tough year under Tom Allen. Tough enough that I predicted he would get fired after this year. But while they’re only 3-6 straight up, they’re 5-4 ATS. They were in a 1-score game late with Penn State, and they just took down Wisconsin. Illinois, meanwhile, is just 2-7 ATS on the season. Their average margin of victory has been 3.5 points. Am I supposed to trust them to win by a full TD when they’ve shown no ability to? Give me the Hoosiers! Indiana +6.5
