Jamey Chadwell of the Liberty Flames

There aren’t many head coaches who are known to be quite as innovative as Jamey Chadwell of the Liberty Flames. While he was with the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, Chadwell was able to build that program into a successful and sustainable winner. And he did it with a flexible offense that, at its best, was pretty balanced.

A number of Mississippi State football fans clamored for a coach to run the ball more and now we’re seeing the fruits of that. If we’re going to run the ball more, maybe we could do it with a coach who can be dynamic and has a track record of establishing a winning program where it can be difficult to thrive.

Enter Jamey Chadwell.

Chadwell spent five seasons with Coastal Carolina and he managed to go 39-22 from 2017 to 2022. He went from winning three games his first season to back-to-back 11-win seasons in 2020 and 2021.

The man knows how to win.

Right now, Chadwell’s Liberty Flames are 8-0 on the season and have the 13th best scoring offense in the country at 37 points per game.

And by the way, the Flames are running for 280.6 yards per game. So, if you want someone who will run the heck out of the ball, maybe finding someone who is an established winner and who is also creative is a great place to start.
