1995 Peach Bowl: Miss. State football faces NC State Wolfpack once again

Another trip to Atlanta for the Mississippi State football team! And this time, the Mississippi State Bulldogs got the lovely opportunity to meet up with the NC State Wolfpack. Would the Bulldogs get a win in this game?

Well, no.

On January 2, 1995 in the Georgia Dome, MSU took another trip to Atlanta and suffered another frustrating loss.

This one was a back-and-forth sort of affair, unlike the Bulldogs’ last Peach Bowl. And unlike the last matchup between the MSU Bulldogs and the NC State Wolfpack, this game ended up in a disappointing loss for the folks in Maroon and White.

MSU’s offense was able to generate some yards and sustain a few drives here and there, but the Bulldogs didn’t have an easy time getting into the end zone. The Bulldogs ended up kicking five field goals and recording one safety.

Other than that, MSU had one touchdown.

Meanwhile, North Carolina State had a more straightforward approach to scoring points. They kicked a couple field goals, scored three touchdowns (with one successful two-point attempt), and subsequently called it a day with a 28-24 win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

And if you’re counting at home, that’s three consecutive bowl trips for Sherrill and the Bulldogs and that’s three consecutive losses.
