Will Kevin Barbay try to generate a rushing attack to balance out the offense?

Something that will be intriguing to watch is how dedicated the Bulldogs are to running the ball. Mississippi State has the potential to have an explosive passing attack, but it was the way MSU ran the ball earlier this season that seemed to be the main storyline for this Miss. State Bulldogs offense.

That wasn’t the case last week as MSU struggled to gain rushing yards and Woody Marks was limited.

So, what will Barbay do? Elements of his passing attack are dependent upon the Bulldogs running the ball effectively. Mississippi State generates dangerous downfield passing off of play action because of some of the wide zone rushing plays that are lined up.

But with the line of scrimmage being a relative weak point, and Ole Miss really struggling to run the ball last week, it’s hard to imaging that MSU will just run the ball without any sort of issue.

Will Barbay find a way to generate a rushing attack? Or will he be open to airing things out and not worrying about a semblance of balance between run and pass plays? Can Miss. State even rely solely on the passing attack all evening against the Crimson Tide?
