College football schedule week 5: Virginia at Boston College

1:00 PM CT on CW Network

You know what’s better than a game featuring a couple flawed teams that might get weird? That’d be a game featuring a couple legitimately bad teams that might get completely bonkers. And I have a hard time imagining a more sickos matchup than 1-3 Boston College hosting 0-4 Virginia on the freaking CW!

Yes, the CW is now home to college football. The network has already played host to such legendary matchups as…Cincinnati vs Pitt and Georgia Tech vs Wake Forest! Riveting!

Boston College and UVA might be the most appropriate college football game ever for the CW. No one in their right mind watches the CW, and no one in their right mind is watching these two teams attempt to play the game of football. But if you’re reading this, you’re definitely not in your right mind, so it’s perfect.

You just have to remind yourself that Boston College gave Florida State all they could handle. Forget that they lost to a Northern Illinois team that’s taken Ls to FCS Southern Illinois and Tulsa, easily could’ve lost to FCS Holy Cross, and got massacred by Louisville. Let all that go. They went down to the wire with the Noles.

And UVA is worth watching if for no other reason than their QB, Anthony Colandrea. Colandrea plays the position with the mentality of that cousin in your Turkey Bowl game on Thanksgiving that insists on being QB despite lacking many of the skills necessary to play QB and just tells everyone “GO LONG” on every play. My man just loves the deep ball. Does he connect on a lot of them? Who cares, he’s launching it.

I previously said that when flawed teams meet, dumb things tend to happen. Well when bad teams meet, dumb things do happen. Embrace dumb.
