Mississippi State football: 3 questions after MSU’s ugly loss to LSU
By Ethan Lee
Can Mississippi State football actually find a way to keep up with and contain dual threat quarterbacks?
For the second week in a row, a dynamic and exciting dual threat quarterback caused problems for the Mississippi State football team. Matt Brock and his defense certainly didn’t have any sort of fun as Jayden Daniels had all the fun he could ever want to have against the Bulldogs.
And as a result, the Bulldogs gave up a few scores.
Daniels had no issue giving the Bulldogs problems through the air or causing chaos on the ground. He ended up throwing for 361 yards and two touchdowns while also adding an additional 64 rushing yards and two rushing scores.
The man completed over 88 percent of his passes. He wasn’t fazed by anything State’s defense did.
Mississippi State had no answers for Daniels. There was nothing that the Bulldogs could really do to slow him down. It looks like MSU will continue to have issues taking care of business against guys who can extend plays or be a danger in the running game through option plays.
Defending an athletic quarterback was an issue a week ago. IT was an issue this week. Oh, and by the way, it could be an issue later this season as well.
That’s not exciting!
