What to expect when Mississippi State-ing – Week 3: MSU vs. LSU
By John King
High expectations for Mississippi State football vs. LSU Tigers
For the last few days, the talk around the Mississippi State football program has been the playcalling of Kevin Barbay. Specifically, in the game against Arizona, State gave up on the pass early in the game. It is a possibility that we were being vanilla in order to not give LSU clues to how our offense will perform this weekend.
LSU looked susceptible to the pass in their matchup in week 1, so if the Bulldogs do have some air raid-esque firepower hidden up their sleeves, we could follow the Seminoles lead and have a great chance to win.
If the Bulldogs can combine a sneak-attack offense with a defense that can contain Jayden Daniels, who looks like the entire LSU offense, I think MSU could win big. Heck, last year in this game Mississippi State hung strong until a muffed punt late in the game gave all of the momentum to LSU.
Is it that crazy to think we could put it all together this year?
If Mississippi State shows better offense in week 3, and LSU is in fact not good this year, we could see the Bulldogs pull a massive upset by a few scores.
