Cole Cubelic seems impressed with Mississippi State football win vs. Arizona Wildcats
By Ethan Lee
SEC Network analyst and sideline reporter Cole Cubelic has some great insight on the Mississippi State football win over the Arizona Wildcats.
If you’re looking for help understanding what to make of Mississippi State’s win over Arizona, you’re not alone. I was pretty confused by some of what I saw from the Mississippi State football team on Saturday.
And so, I started watching some highlights and chatting with friends and seeking out knowledge from those who know the sport.
Enter Cole Cubelic and his weekly thoughts on the SEC as a whole.
Cubelic, who works with SEC Network, has a radio show, does a TV show for SEC Network, and also has his own podcast (the man is all over the place all the time and needs to slow down just a little bit because he’s creating more content and providing incredible insight at a pace that is faster than I can keep up with) provided his thoughts on how the Bulldogs played.
Here’s a quick summary of Cubelic’s thoughts, courtesy of the man’s X account (Twitter account?):

But Cubelic was able to expand on those thoughts with a platform that allowed him to go more in depth. And if you’re not already following his podcast, then you need to go ahead and do yourself a favor and do that.
Because Cubelic had a ton of thoughts on the Bulldogs (and the SEC at large):
(He’s busy, he’s all over the place, and he should probably take a deep breath every now and then because he’s producing a ton of content all the time).
But he had some really good thoughts on Mississippi State’s win over the Wildcats.
“This was a talented football team. And State gets to win 31-24. I know it didn’t look pretty. I know it wasn’t what a lot of State fans wanted, but this is a good win,” Cubelic explained. “[Arizona] is a confident team. They’ve been building and building, you go back to Jedd Fisch’s first year, second year, and now this year. I think they thought last year, if they’d played clean football, they could have competed, maybe won the game.”
So yeah, it’s fair to say the man is pretty impressed with the fact that the Bulldogs got a win against Arizona. And it’s clear that Cubelic wants fans to take something away from this. And it’s that the Bulldogs actually got a solid win here.
“So, I don’t want State fans to take this thing for granted. I don’t want State fans to also think this wasn’t a really good win. Because it was. It was a really good win. Will Rogers goes 13-17, 162 yards, 3 touchdowns, no picks. Jett Johnson 11 tackles, two for loss, two interceptions, man he was awesome,” Cubelic added.
The win was frustrating at times, but Cubelic doesn’t seem all that worried about how the Bulldogs are adjusting to all of the new so far. A new offense, a new head coach, several new assistant coaches.
So far, two wins and it doesn’t seem like guys like Cubelic are sounding the alarm right now.
There are worse positions to be in. We’ll get some more insight on if we should be concerned after the Mississippi State football team faces the LSU Tigers.
